Maïka Morin is a dancer from Port-au-prince, Haiti and based in New York City. Influenced by the rich and unmatched culture of Haiti, Maika started her training in Jazz, Ballet, and Folklore. Additionally, she received her Bachelors of Arts in Dance at Hofstra University in Long Island, New York. There, she studied under the artistry and guidance of Robin Becker and Karla Wolfangle. During Maika’s time at Hofstra, she took part in performances and productions by Dyane Harvey-Salaam, David Parker, Earl Mosley, and Bill Young. Additionally, she has been a dancer at The Forces of Nature Dance Theater since 2013, performing in prestigious venues like The Apollo Theater and New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Today, Maika still dedicates herself and her craft to the Forces of Nature Dance Theater while honoring her Haitian roots which continue to influence her technique and storytelling in dance.
